●In June 2015, the EU commission published a new Directive ((EU) 2015/863) amending EU RoHS 2 Directive (2011/65/EU) by adding 4 phthalates to the list of restricted substances. Accordingly the CE marking is to be removed from Mitsubishi Electric programmable controllers containing these phthalates, MELSEC-AnS series.
●There is no impact on the general specifications, performance specifications, functions, and external dimensions of products due to the change.
●Reason for the CE marking removal
To date, MELSEC series products of Mitsubishi Electric programmable controllers must be compliant with the EMC Directive (2014/30/EU) and the Low Voltage Directive (2006/95/EC), both of which are the EU directives, to have the CE marking on them. On July 22, 2017, however, compliance with the RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) also became mandatory. The products listed in "2 Relevant models" will not be compliant with the RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) by adding 4 phthalates to the list of restricted substances on July 22, 2021, and the design change of these products for the compliance is also difficult.
Accordingly, the CE marking is to be removed from these models.
