Riverside, California – October 20, 2021 – Effective April 16, 2022 October 1, 2022, Bourns will change the inductor terminal plating method for the Model SRR4818A and SRR4828A Series Shielded Power Inductors. The current plating method, physical vapor deposition (PVD), will be changed to barrel plating. In the PVD plating, the Fe/Ni/Cu coating is processed in one procedure. The thickness of the metal layer is unidentifiable during QA inspection. In the barrel plating method, the Ag/Ni/Sn coating is processed separately. The thickness of each metal layer is identifiable during QA inspection. A list of affected part numbers is listed below.
