●Summary of Change:uEZGUI-1788-43WQR Family implementing second source speaker, LCD Shutdown selection
●Reason for Change:FDI has added new port pin selection to the uEZGUI-1788-43WQR to choose which micro-controller signal controls the Sharp LCD “Shut” line. The signal that is not chosen will be available on the expansion bus on J2-26. This fixes the “regression” in revision 5& 6 where the J2-26 expansion pin was not available when the new DG28 LCD is used.In addition,the speaker footprint has been modified to accept multiple speaker options to provide improved sourcing and availability.
●Detailed Description of Change:
■The signal A24 has been connected to the NOR Flash, allowing for the optional use of larger 32MB NOR Flash devices. R86 has been added as a pull-down on this line. R82, R83, R84, and R85 have been added as J2-26 signal selection 0 Ohm resistors. These have been added so that either P1.31 or P5.1 can be used for expansion since the other port pin needs to be used with the Sharp DG28 display.
■The BZ1 speaker footprint has been modified to allow for loading alternate speaker/buzzer parts in addition to the original Star Micronics speaker which is no longer available. With this footprint change, two different styles of speakers are supported, allowing the potential to use multiple speaker sources. FDI has done extensive testing and selected the device with characteristics and performance that closely match the original Star Micronics speaker.
■The following new parts are “Do Not Load” (DNL) by default: J3, R86, R82, R83, R85.
