●The purpose of this notification is to advise that Knowles Precision Devices intend to update their standard DWV test voltage for 630V rated MLCC’s to min 820Vdc (1.3 x Rated Voltage), in line with common industry standards, as below
■IEC60384-21:2019 (Class 1) and IEC 30384-22:2019 (Class 2)
■JISC5101-21:2014 (Class 1) and JISC5101-22:2014 (Class 2)
●The change only applies to MLCC’s with 630V rated, please note:
■No changes with respect to Knowles product performance
■No changes with respect to manufacturing processes.
●Syfer™ Surface Mount part numbers
■PCN affects:
◆630Vdc rated parts with termination code ‘J’ or ‘Y’ AND dielectric code ‘J’/’G’/’C’/’X’/’K’/’S’
◆630Vdc rated parts with suffix code WS
●Syfer™ Radial Leaded part numbers
■PCN affects 630Vdc rated parts with lead style ‘M’, ‘N’ or ‘T’ AND dielectric code ‘C’ or ‘X’
●Novacap™ Surface Mount part numbers
■PCN affects 630Vdc rated parts with termination code ‘N’ or ‘C’ AND with dielectric code RB or RN
●Novacap™ Radial Leaded part numbers
■PCN affects 630Vdc rated parts with dielectric code RB or RN
