●Summary of Change:uEZGUI-1788-70WVM Family product revision release with second source speaker installed, new connectors, SDRAM upgrade to 16MB, LCD shielding option, new accelerometer.
●Reason for Change: This new revision of uEZGUI-1788-70WVM-BA incorporates fixes and adjustments to improve: ease-of-assembly, ease-of-speaker connection, and sourcing and availability of speakers. In addition a new PMOD connector has been added and anew industry standard JTAG connector is being utilized.
●Detailed Description of Changes:Multiple onboard speaker options are now supported depending on availability.
■The headphone jack is moved closer to the PCB edge to reduce mechanical stress with some plug assemblies.
■A PMOD Type 2A connector has been added to allow for I2C and SPI access using standard header pins.
■The new 10-pin alternate power and COM connector allows for SPI and IRQ access in addition to UART and I2C with an easy migration path from the 6 pin version.
■Ground pads have been added so the LCD can now be optionally grounded to the board in 3 places using aluminum foil tape.In addition, the cable slots for the LCD were enlarged to make it easier to assemble the uEZGUI.
■The microSD card interface is now 4-bit high-speed mode only. This supports 15fps WQVGA resolution video playback and higher speed file transfer. The low speed microSD card interface option was removed for simplification.
■The SDRAM is now populated with 16MB standard size, instead of the 8MB previously used. No software changes are required to use the new SDRAM chip in existing 8MB applications. To use the additional SDRAM in new applications,a minor software configuration change is required.
■The JTAG ESD protection diode has also been changed to a new device with better performance.
■The change to the new ARM 9-pin Cortex-M JTAG connector means that the FDI JTAG adapter will no longer be required on the Rev 2.0 uEZGUI-1788-70WVM-BA units. The SEGGER JTAG unit will now connect directly to the uEZGUI using a 9 pin keyed cable.
