Riverside, California – October 7, 2021 – In the spirit of continuous improvement, effective January 1, 2022, Bourns will change the packaging method of the Model PM2110 and PM2120 Series High Current SMD Power Inductors to better protect the components from transit damage and to replace carton dividers with plastic sheets to avoid carton and dust contamination of the parts.
The current packaging with individual carton trays and dividers occasionally has resulted in transit damage and the loss of integrity of the carton packaging. The carton also contains some minimal amounts of carton “dust” that could attach to the parts causing contamination. The modified packaging will replace the carton dividers and trays with a 7 mil plastic sheet to cover the parts and the sheet will be “vacuumed skin-packed” to create individual cells for each of the parts. The plastic will adhere to the foam sheets thus sealing and protecting the parts from dust contamination.
